well, it looks like it's finally gonna happen and it's drew barrymore's fault... The film is scheduled to be released in '04. Does anyone else secretly find this morally reprehensible?

I am reading it right now, and I am sure ignatius would be appalled in a most verbose and acerbic way by his fictional world being put onto celluloid by the perverse and purile likes of Drew Barrymore.

Actually, I think it could be good, I mean, people seem to have wanted to see a movie of this, but Will Ferrell? Is he going to fatten up considerably?
Don't give anything away, because I am only about 115 pages in.

no problem. Yeah, I dont get why it had to be drew barrymore of all people. It sounds like its gonna get thrown under tha carpet after it comes out.

Though I do love Donnie Darko (it is one of my favorite movies) I still cannot look past the fact that she has also helped to bring crap like Never Been Kissed and Charlie's Angels to the world. No offense intended to anyone who may like those movies; it's just that in my humble opinion the same person who helped in those cannot possibly do justice to something like COD. And I find the idea of Will Ferrell playing Ignatius absolutley absurd. I am also very sleep deprived at the moment and think I might possibly be inadvertantly posting a rambling tangent of a post in which I complain nonsensically in Igantius-esque style.

I can just imagine Ignatius hearing this news, and then proceeding to go on a tangent about fortuna, that capricious sprite, and how her wheel is always spinning.

What I've been really wondering about is how they're possibly going to pull off Jones. I mean, in these days of overly p.c. critisism, the way Jones is written to speak and act would never fly. And sorry, but if you have to make such a major change to one of the central characters, you're already ruining the whole thing.
